PAIN MANAGEMENT

Through his intuitive knowledge of anatomy, Michael Petrina finds the systematic discrepancies that cause the biomechanical dysfunctions that can result in injury, pain, or discomfort. Pulling techniques from physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic and massage therapy he has developed a unique manual therapy system that realigns the body and reduces pain. By being both a proactive and reactive system, this method allows his clients to live pain free and move at their full potential.

On the initial consultation with Petrina, biomechanics will be evaluated. Biomechanics explores the structure and function of the muscular, joint and skeletal actions of the body. Proper understanding of biomechanics can greatly impact sports performance, rehabilitation, pain management, and injury prevention. Petrina will identify improper movement patterns and lack of neuromuscular control in specific parts of your body that are contributing to recurring pain, discomfort, and injury.

Through this manual therapy system, Petrina will manipulate the specific area of fascia that impacts the limited movement of an area of the body. Fascia, the body’s all-encompassing connective tissue, is a web of tissue that provides a framework that helps support and protect individual muscle groups, organs, and the entire body as a unit. Based on Petrina’s acute understanding of fascial anatomy, proper and pain free movement can be restored through precise manipulation of the appropriate fascia.

Unlike traditional physical therapy, sessions are few and far between with this unique manual therapy system. Significant improvement can be felt as soon as the first session of Petrina’s conscious, intuitive treatment. Treating individual cases as quickly and effectively as possible is his goal. His method will change the way you think of “physical therapy”.

TESTIMONIALS

I am a 38 year old active female that had reconstructive knee surgery reconnecting patella tendons. Mike helped me enormously get through PT, rehab and pain. I am now back to playing with my three kids and back on the tennis courts, both pain and brace free. I owe this amazing recovery to Mike. He goes above and beyond!

I am a 65 year old woman, who has osteoporosis and had a bulging disc, as well as a tear in my hip area. I first came to Mike on a family member’s recommendation. I have had other trainers, but nobody had helped me as much as Mike has.
He has put me on an active training program which has significantly helped my mobility . My recent bone density results were much improved as well.
I actually look forward to working out and I feel so much stronger. I thank you Mike!
